An Introduction To Anal
Sex - How To Stay Safe
If you're considering having
anal sex, make sure you understand that there are certain
precautions that you and your partner need to take in order to
be safe. There are
real dangers associated with
anal sex. This subject is very important to research
before you actually do anything. There are safety precautions
that you must know about before you decide whether or not you
want to have anal.
Obivously one of the most
important parts of safe anal penetration is the use of a
condom. A condom should be used even with monogamous couples,
simply because of all the bacteria present in the
rectum. A latex condom will keep bacteria off of the
man's penis, and make insertion a little easier.
If you aren't going to use a
condom, make sure that neither of you has any cuts (on the
penis or anus) and are disease free. It's a good idea to
get tested, especially before anal. Also understand that
fecal bacteria will most likely get shoved into the penis of
the penetrator, which could very well lead to infection.
Urinating after anal sex, may help prevent infection, but it's
not a foolproof method.
The next important safety
precaution involves lots of lubricant. Never ever have "dry"
anal sex. It's almost guaranteed to results in tearing of anal
tissue.
Silicone lubes
are great because they're super
slippery and seem to last forever. The last thing you
want is for all your lubricant to dry up during the act.
You'll have to pause to re-apply lubricant and possibly have to
deal with the pain of penetration again.
Anal lubes are also a
great choice, since they're made specifically for anal
sex. Many of them have desensitizing ingredients that
help to numb the anus. Never use a spermicidal condom or
lubricant - it really irritates the sensitive skin of the anus,
and can make sex very unpleasant.
Before you start, you want to
ensure that the rectum is empty. An enema is the best way
to achieve an empty rectum. It also reduces the amount of
fecal bacteria in the anus by rinsing some out.
The partner who will be
penetrated should clean their anus thoroughly with an
anti-bacterial soap . Getting rid of the existing
bacteria on the surface of the skin prevents it from spreading
all over the place, which could increase the risk of
infection in the vagina, or any cuts that happen to be around
the area.
Enter the anus slowly.
Forcing your way in will lead to injury and a lot of pain for
the person being penetrated. You should never push
through resistance. Stop if anal sex is too difficult or
painful, and comminicate openly with each other.
After anal sex, clean up
immediately. Never put your penis from anus to vagina, or from
anus to mouth. This can lead to nasty infections, or even
sickness. Wash up with anti-bacterial soap again, to prevent
spreading bacteria.
Remember to be safe while having anal sex.
These little precautions could save you from some pretty
uncomfotable anal tears or yeast infections.
